Isleworth Baroque

Isleworth Baroque was founded in 2002 by Helena Brown. We are based in West London and are dedicated to performing 17th and 18th century operas. Our numbers include singers, dancers, instrumentalists and production staff. We are an amateur group, led and tutored by professionals and always aim for the highest standards in our performances.

“Come and Sing Something Baroque”

For the first time we are hosting a summer concert/party where everyone is invited to come and sing or play anything they choose – as long as its Baroque. Solos, duets, trios welcome. We will also be singing three chorus numbers, rehearsed during the previous three Wed evenings.

** Please note this update from Janet who says:

” I’m looking for soloists to volunteer for the following:

• 3 soloists, any voice, for a verse each of Arne’s Rule Britannia
• one mezzo or baritone for a brief bit of Monteverdi
• and one soprano or mezzo (goes up to E) for a longer section of Monteverdi
• one soprano soloist for a pretty, dancey verse of a motet
• a soprano and a mezzo or baritone for a short, pretty love duet (Handel)

all music available from me

PLUS:
There will be spaces for only 8 or nine solo / small ensemble items, including instrumentalists: please let me know if you have anything in mind. Slots are going fast already: I will write everyone down, and as far as I can, create a programme which is musically balanced as well as making sure that everyone gets a chance. ”
